In memory of Stefan Heinzel

The management board of Cineca and all the HPC staff feel deeply saddened about the loss Stefan Heinzel, Director of the Max Planck Computing and Data Facility, and would like to express sincere condolences to his family and MPCDF colleagues. 



OGS and Cineca drew up an agreement to implement a training program focussed on High Performance Computing (HPC) applications for Earth Sciences, the “HPC Training and Research for Earth Sciences” (HPC-TRES).

The Italian Minister of Universities and Research at Cineca

The Italian Ministrer of Education Universities and Research Ministry, participated at the ceremony of the inauguration of the Cineca new building, and of the MARCONI supercomputer.

European H2020 project: HPC-Europa3

Transnational Access Programme for a Pan-European Network of HPC Research Infrastructures and Laboratories for scientific computing (HPC-Europa3) is the new 4-years project funded by EC. HPC-Europa3 aims at maintaining the persistency of a high quality service of transnational access to the most advanced HPC infrastructures available in Europe for the European research science community.
